New Local Business

We are pleased to announce the creation of a new business in Monticello, IL. Blue Ridge Backwoods, Inc. was created after Scott Wiegel, a local businessman, leading a group of investors acquired Evans' Archery and an existing building that will be used for the new facility. The new business will be located at 1410 North Market Street.

When the new facility opens, customers will have access to the following:

	40 YD Indoor 3D Range - we have a dedicated 40 yard indoor shooting range for 3D animal targets with 12 shooting lanes. This range will be decorated with trees, bushes, and other natural objects in order to enhance the shooting experience. We will be offering leagues and open shooting times.
	Techno Hunt Shooting System - we have purchased one of the first video archery systems in Central Illinois. If you are not familiar with these systems, see this link. We will be offering leagues and access to national shooting tournaments with this system. Come in and see how you do against other archers from across the nation!
	20 YD Indoor Target Range - We have a 20 yard indoor target range with backstops with 8 shooting lanes. This range allows more traditional archery shooting at fixed distance targets. We will be offering leagues and open shooting times - bring in the family as it is a great way to pass a few hours on the weekend.
	Outdoor 3D Range - We have negotiated with a local landlord for access to 10 acres of heavily forested land with several ridges. This outdoor range will allow you to shoot in a completely natural setting at distances greater than 40 yards (from the Pro Stakes, Cub Stakes are much shorter). Using the local topography, we can simulate tree stand shots while you are standing safely on the ground. This course offers 30 different targets, with all of the standard IBO 3D targets for tournament practice.
	Expanded Hours of Operation - the new facility will be open from 10:00AM till 9:00PM each day. There will be limited hours of operation for holidays and other local events. We will be closed on Mondays except during the fall hunting season.
	Bow Shop - the finest equipment and supplies to ensure that we can fix any problem with your hunting equipment. We can also build or customize a bow for you. The new bow shop also has a "jig" that allows us to build a custom bow string for your equipment.
	Larger Retail Space - the new facility will have a greatly expanded retail store, including the addition of new bow lines, clothing, fishing supplies, and live bait.
	Hunting Supplies - in addition to archery supplies that were previously carried, we have expanded the selection and number of products offered to also include many hunting supplies. This includes firearm ammo, clothing, packs, scents, and lures.
	Preferred Hunts - Blue Ridge Backwoods partners with land owners in Central Illinois to provide high quality deer and turkey hunts. We currently have access to over 3000 acres of land, much of it agricultural land bordering rivers and creeks. There have been 30 record book deer taken over the past 10 years. Come by the new shop to see some of the larger mounts that we have been harvested under our management program. In order to ensure a high-quality hunt, we only use guided hunts. This increases the cost - but we have found it increases hunter success rates, hunter enjoyment, and meets local landowner needs. We know the local land and animals - let us help you meet your hunting goals. We have sold all reservations for the 2005 Hunting Season - check back early next year for additional opportunities.

Over the next four months, the new building will be renovated to meet the requirements of an indoor archery shop. It is currently anticipated that the new facility will be open to the public sometime around the end of June, 2005.
